Het Italiaanse cruiseschip 'Costa Voyager' ligt in onze kusthaven vandaag. Jawel, je kan het al raden. De naam 'Costa' doet al een belletje rinkelen. Dit schip maakt deel uit van de vloot waartoe de 'Costa Concordia' ook toe behoort. Het schip is het 14de schip in de Costa-Vloot, met de 'Costa Concordia' buiten beschouwing gelaten.
Dit schip heeft een niet zo grote geschiedenis. Van 2000 tot in 2004 voer het schip voor 'Royal Olympic Cruises' onder de naam 'Olympic Voyager'. In 2004 werd het schip over gekocht door 'Ibere Cruises' (trouwens ook een rederij die Zeebrugge aanloopt) en voer het onder de naam 'Grand Voyager'. En sinds 2011 is het schip actief voor 'Costa Cruises' onder haar huidige naam.
Dit schip ziet er wat kleiner uit, maar met zijn 180,7 meter heeft het schip evenveel te bieden zoals een groot cruiseschip. Met 418 hutten in totaal, waaronder 52 suites, 16 met panoramisch uitzicht en 12 met eigen balkon, kan het schip 832 passagiers (maximum 922) vervoeren. Indien u een klein hongertje hebt, of zin hebt in een drankje, kunt u in de 3 restaurants en de 4 bars terecht! Aan ontspanningsmogelijkheden heeft u ook geen tekort. Met een welzijnscentrum met sportzaal, behandelzalen, sauna's en hammam, 2 baden voor hydromassage en een zwembad op het achterdek, kunt u zich eens goed laten verwennen!
Niet zo'n fan van welness en sport? Geen probleem! het schip telt ook een theater, discotheek, bibliotheek, de Squok Club, een casino, een internetpunt en verschillende boetieks waar u terecht kan voor uw dagelijkse portie enterainment en ontspanning!
Het schip vaart voornamelijk in het Middellands Zeegebied en de UAE (Verenigde Arabische Emiraten). Op 13 juli 2013 is ze vertrokken op een herpositioneringscruise vanuit Amsterdam naar Savona (Italië)
